My Practice — Exploring the Invisible Threads Between Us.
My practice explores the unseen energy carried through people, places, and memory. Through layered mixed-media work, I investigate identity, emotion, and the experience of never quite fitting within the world around us. Rooted in intuition and quiet tension, the work explores emotional landscapes and unseen energies beneath everyday perception. Creating art that speaks to the soul beyond first glance.
These works are invitations into unseen spaces — moments of memory, feeling, and human connection unfolding beneath the surface. Each piece acts as a fragment of a wider emotional terrain, tracing the internal threads that quietly shape identity and experience.
Not created simply to be viewed, but felt. This archive explores what lingers beneath perception long after first glance.
Where the threads lead
(echos, fragments, and forms)

An evolving collection of current studio work exploring feeling, memory, identity, and unseen emotional landscapes through layered mixed-media experimentation.

A collection of university work created somewhere between creative breakthroughs, emotional spirals, sleep deprivation, and studio chaos. These pieces trace the beginning of my deeper artistic voice and the foundations of the practice still evolving today.

Personalised works shaped through memory, emotion, and shared stories — collaborative pieces created to hold something meaningful, intimate, and entirely unique to the people they belong to.

- Not Because I Couldn’t, But Because They Belonged Digitally. Collected glimpses, passing moments, and fragments of atmosphere captured through photography — images that felt complete exactly as they existed through the lens.

An archive of early creative work from my teenage years; messy, honest, experimental, and full of the beginnings of the artist I was slowly becoming before I even realised it myself.

Poetry, fragmented thoughts, emotional ramblings, and the kinds of words that arrive late at night when the world goes quiet enough to finally hear them.

Realism portraits exploring expression, presence, vulnerability, and the quiet details that exist beneath the surface of a face when we truly stop and look.

Vintage finds, forgotten furniture, and worn objects restored through care, creativity, and a slight emotional attachment to things with stories already built into them.

A home for the beautifully unclassifiable — props, experiments, strange ideas, creative detours, and the projects that refused to fit neatly anywhere else.
Much of my studio practice is shaped by moments, memory, atmosphere, human connection, and the quiet emotional threads that exist beneath everyday life — but not solely my own. Some of the most meaningful pieces emerge through the stories, experiences, and feelings shared with me by others.
Creating personalised commissions is something I hold very close to my heart; a collaborative process of translating emotion into something tangible, intimate, and entirely unique to you. Whether it’s a memory you never want to lose, a feeling you struggle to put into words, or simply a piece that feels like home to your soul, I would love to create alongside you.
If my work resonates with you, I invite you to step into the studio and begin the process with me. Fill out the commission request form below, and I’ll get back to you within 2–3 working days to start shaping your own little pocket of feeling into form.
Sketchbooks know everything - trust me, they shout the smallest whispers
If you really want to know an artist, look through their sketchbook. Mine are filled with chaotic scribbles, half-formed ideas, strange little thoughts, accidental masterpieces, shopping lists hidden between drawings, and emotional spirals disguised as colour palettes. They hold the beginnings of almost everything — the messy middle stages, the overthinking, the breakthroughs, the tiny obsessions that eventually grow into finished work. Somewhere between the doodles and disorder is the most honest version of my creative process, and honestly… probably the clearest map inside my brain.

Trying to Romanticise Adulthood Through Art - With Way Too Many Creative Side Quests Along the Way
I’m Courtney — a 23-year-old mixed-media artist from the North-West of England who has been making things for as long as I can remember. After studying on the South Coast at Arts University Bournemouth, I somehow found myself decorating cakes full-time for a living (which still feels slightly surreal considering I go home and continue baking for fun anyway).
When I’m not covered in paint, icing sugar, or emotionally attached to a project at 2am, I’m usually applying for theatre prop-making jobs, dreaming about one day becoming a forensic sketch artist, or trying to navigate adulthood through a combination of creativity, caffeine, and very loud music. Art has always been the thing that keeps me grounded. A place to process, escape, unravel, and rebuild all at once.
Most days, I’m simply figuring things out as I go, creating alongside the chaos and hoping some small fragment of it connects with somebody else along the way.
Built from loud music, restless creativity, surplus amounts of iced coffee and strawberry matcha, and dreams far too large for one 5'2 human to carry quietly, this is only a small fragment of the world I’m creating. If you feel like wandering a little further through the chaos, here’s the main gallery page to guide you back home ;)
